Fluidigm FID microfluidic crystallisation
Still not getting the crystals you want?
The WEHI node of the Centre provides crystallisation screening in Fluidigm microfluidic chips. Experiments can be conducted at 4C or 20C and standard screens consist of two multifactorial screens, a PEG/ion screen and a low salt screen. Generally, proteins are couriered in and photos of the crystallisation experiments are returned on day 0, 1, 2, 4 and 7 of the experiment.
The Topaz system uses microfluidic chips, made of a silicone elastomer, in which over 380 crystallisation experiments can be performed simultaneously. Only 1.5 ul of protein solution is required for 96 screening conditions.
