Keep informed

CSIRO offers a number of choices to keep job seekers well informed, from job alerts generated by our electronic recruitment system through to a variety of social media options such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

We use a range of mediums to advertise our vacancies. Being on the front foot will allow you to know about roles as soon as they are advertised, giving you the maximum amount of time to prepare your application. It will also ensure you see the roles before the application period closes.

Tips in this section are also focused on how to stay connected with us, not just from a career perspective but also in regards to current research and science we are conducting.

Job alerts

The easiest way to keep informed about current vacancies is to sign up for job alerts. This gives you the ability to be notified as soon as the role is advertised. You can tailor your job alerts to specific job areas so you only hear about the roles relevant to you.

The process for registering for job alerts is very simple. Visit our current vacancies portal and select the jobs alerts option. You will then be asked to enter some basic information for the alerts to be received.

Being registered for job alerts will also make applying for roles easier as you will already have an account set up.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is quickly becoming one of the best tools for networking worldwide. Follow us on LinkedIn for the latest careers news and job opportunities. Connect with us on a professional level and learn more about our work.

Facebook

Like our page on Facebook to keep up to date with our research and join the conversation with like-minded people. See how we’re using science to solve real issues.

Many of our large campaigns are often published on Facebook such as vacation students, scholarships and postdoctoral positions.

Twitter

For current news and exciting research stories, our Twitter account (@CSIROnews) provides up to date information about what is happening in our world of research. Twitter is a great medium for people to learn about our research. Often new job opportunities are advertised through twitter and will link back to our careers site for a more detailed description of the role.
