Physics and materials

Our Lindfield site is one of our largest research centres. And we have now opened our doors to SMEs and start-ups looking to co-locate, collaborate and leverage our capabilities and facilities.

Helping companies transition, grow and succeed is part of our DNA. Since we first opened our doors at Lindfield in 1977, our core focus has been helping small, medium and large businesses evolve and compete.

Our expertise

Our experience has taught us that innovation is a great catalyst. And by working closely with companies like yours, we can achieve positive growth in many ways.

What we have learned from working with companies is that each business unique and at a different stage in their evolution. And many of the advances we have helped business make have been just as much about great science and engineering as the relationships we have built.

Our services

In NSW, we have a rich heritage of innovation. Our Lindfield site is one of our largest research centres. And we have now opened our doors to SMEs and start-ups looking to co-locate, collaborate and leverage our capabilities and facilities.

We’re giving business access to some of the brightest minds and best facilities in Australia.

Lindfield has a strong track record for engineering, design and prototyping. From the development of world-leading sensor technologies to the invention of ground-breaking motors that power solar vehicles.

Our work at Lindfield includes device prototyping, materials science and discovery, electrical engineering, and software and systems design. We also have extensive testing and characterisation labs and class 100 clean room which can be accessed by companies.

Access to innovation

Our vision is to give SMEs and start-ups access to our knowledge, equipment and facilities. This can now be accelerated by the option to co-locate at our Lindfield site. Business will benefit from:

  • A range of large and small equipment relevant to prototyping physical devices and products.
  • Software tools to develop designs, code and circuits.
  • Access to CSIRO's wealth of characterisation, fabrication, simulation and materials capabilities.
  • Connection to Innovation Hubs across the country, such as Lab 22 for additive manufacturing (Melbourne), Carbon Nexus (Geelong), Industrial Internet i3Hub (Brisbane).

Taking the next step

Co-locating with CSIRO at Lindfield is just one way you can partner with us. To discuss this opportunity and our other engagement models give us a call or contact us via email. Find out how we are helping local SMEs and start-ups succeed [pdf · 1mb].
