2016 Rollout

During Term 4, 2015 schools in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia were approached to participate in the second year of the I2S2 program.

Brisbane Cluster teacher professional development held at Glenala State High School

Promotional information sessions were held in Cairns, Mackay, Rockhampton, Brisbane, Muswellbrook, Quirindi and Gunnedah with the aim of increasing the number of participating schools.

By the beginning of 2016, the following statistical data was reflective of schools that had confirmed their participation in the program.

Teacher Professional Development was delivered to new teachers through the eight hours after school modal. Existing teachers from the pilot year of implementation of the program attended in their second year, for an additional four hours of development during Session 3 and Session 4. The sessions included are detailed below.

Two new inquiries were implemented in 2016: Year 6 Let's Stick It Together and Year 9 Burn and Grow. The rollout of the Teacher Professional Development occurred in a different manner in 2016 due to teacher feedback and review of 2015 processes.
