Current activities

Dr Surinder Singh is Group Leader of the Oilseeds Group of CSIRO Plant Industry's Metabolic Engineering of New Plant Products program.

This program is developing new plant oils for edible and industrial uses.

Background

Dr Singh has a background in:

• plant biotechnology
• molecular biology of plant lipid biosynthesis
• cancer and radiation biology. 

Academic qualifications

Dr Singh has been awarded a:

• Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, from Guru Nanak University, India, 1976
• Master of Science in Plant Biochemistry, from GB Pant University, India, 1980
• Doctor of Philosophy in Plant Physiology from the University of Adelaide, Adelaide, South Australia, 1985.

Achievements

Dr Singh has numerous publications to his credit.
