Overview
CSIRO research is supporting increased regional water security while meeting social, environmental and critical human needs.
The Water Resource Assessment Theme research aims to address the issues of water scarcity and sustainability in rural Australia in the face of increasing water use, land use change, and climate change and variability.
The Theme supports regional and basin water resources planning and risk management by providing understanding of changing patterns of water availability and developing better assessment tools.
Through partnerships with government, industry and communities, CSIRO research informs understanding of current and future water availability in Australia and supports informed decision-making.
