Biocontainment training

Training is an important component of accessing the ACBRF.

The ACBRF offers a training facility to help visiting scientists gain experience and confidence working in conditions that mirror a high biocontainment environment.

The 60 square metre facility includes fully encapsulated suits, simulated chemical showers and laboratory equipment to closely mimic the actual PC3 and PC4 environments.

The training area is designed to avoid the distractions, delays, and most importantly, the risks associated with early training in an active workspace. This allows training and competency assessment to be carried out safely and timely.
