Donations of specimens and artwork received by the Australian National Insect Collection

The Australian National Insect Collection (ANIC) accepts donations of specimens, books and in this case, some lovely artwork.

  • 1 August 2005 | Updated 19 February 2013

From July 2004 to June 2005 the Australian National Insect Collection (ANIC) has gratefully received donations of over 23 000 specimens.

Our thanks to the efforts of:

  • Mr Simon Campbell Keast
  • Mr John W d'Apice
  • Mr Anthony Polak
  • Mr Jack Wilson
  • Mr Trevor Lambkin.

Many amateur collectors visit 'out-of-the-way' places, localities sometimes under-represented in the ANIC.

These collections add to our knowledge of the distribution of the Australian insect fauna and add significant value to the Collection.

ANIC has also received donations of two paintings Honey pot ant and Bulldog ant from the artist, Starr.

These paintings now hang in the ant section. Starr produced the works based on specimens loaned from ANIC.
