Australian moths online: a photo gallery
Site authors
Len Willan, who has collected moths throughout his life and is often faced with the challenges of identification, is the driving force behind this web site.
He spends hours photographing specimens in his own collection, and entering data.
All data, from localities to species identifications, are subsequently verified by Ted Edwards at the Australian National Insect Collection (ANIC).
Other contributors include:
- Andreas Zwick: created a custom solution for shared, easier and more consistent data entry
- Lilys Koesmarno: set up the program Gallery and created custom scripts for automated uploads
- Glenn Cocking: took on responsibility for the technical side of the website for several years, including uploading new images and corrections
- Len Willan and Marianne Horak have provided inspiration and organisation for the project.
