About us
CSIRO Materials Science and Engineering (CMSE)'s innovation in new materials occurs at the intersection of biology, chemistry and physics. Our research is making an impact for Australians in manufacturing, health, automotive and aerospace, defence and resource exploration.
Getting involved in the Vacation Scholarship Program at CMSE will allow you to expand your skills and knowledge in your area of study and will give you the unique opportunity to get hands-on experience working as part of a research team to address real-world problems.

The Scholarships
This year's scholarships run from November 2012 to February 2013.
Placements are full-time for a period of 8-12 weeks, and are available at various CMSE sites in Victoria (Clayton, Parkville, Highett or Geelong) and New South Wales (Lindfield and North Ryde). Succesful applicants will be paid a stipend of A$705 per week for the duration of the scholarship.
Students who complete a vacation scholarship may have the opportunity to do their PhDs, gain employment in CSIRO or universities, or pursue other interesting careers.
Eligibility
Scholarships are available to Australian Residents who are enrolled in an honours degree in Science or Engineering and have completed at least two years of undergraduate study.
Succesful applicants will be selected according to their interests and the project needs of the supervisor, taking into account the student's academic merit.
