With its close proximity to the Southern Ocean, CSIRO's Hobart laboratories are an excellent location for research into the oceans and atmosphere.
It’s here that we meet Dr Nic Bax and Dr Karen Wild-Allen from CSIRO’s Wealth from Oceans Flagship who are working to better understand our oceans’ biodiversity through various deep-ocean and coastal research projects.
Also working at CSIRO’s Hobart laboratories is visiting scientist Dr Brad Evans, who is part of a science-industry partnership recruiting an elite pool of Atlantic salmon bloodlines to transform Tasmania’s A$350 million Atlantic salmon industry.
