  • Alex Wonhas

    Board Member - CSIRO Executive

    Dr Alex Wonhas is the Executive Director - Environment, Energy and Resources. He leads 4 business units with 1,500 research staff. They work on exploration and mining, oil & gas production; understanding land, water, coastal and ocean ecosystems as well as new energy technologies. He holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics Cambridge, UK and his experience includes 7 years for McKinsey & Company.

  • Alejandro Foxley

    Board Member - CSIRO Chile

    Dr Alejandro Foxley has a PhD in Economy and formerly held the positions of Treasury Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senator of the Republic of Chile. Since 2009, Mr Alejandro Foxley has been the President of CIEPLAN, a leading national think tank focused on economic and public policy in this country.

  • Crispin Conroy

    Board Member - CSIRO Chile

    Mr Crispin Conroy is the Australian Consul-General, Colombia; and Senior Trade Commissioner for Latin America (Austrade).

  • Hazel Bennett

    Board Member - CSIRO Executive

    Ms Hazel Bennett is Chief Finance Officer of CSIRO. She ensures financial sustainability through robust, risk-based commercial and financial frameworks for Executive, Board and line management decision-making. She brings wide expertise from Austrade, Deloitte and ANZ.

  • Nigel Warren

    Board Member - CSIRO Chile

    General Manager CSIRO GLOBAL, responsible for supporting CSIRO’s global growth agenda and the building and coordination of international programs. He has been Australia’s Consul-General and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner based in San Francisco, CA and Senior Trade Commissioner Latin America, based in Santiago, Chile.


Executive

  • Orlando Jiménez

    Executive Director - CSIRO Executive

    Dr Orlando Jiménez is Executive Director for the CSIRO Chile Research Foundation. He is an Oxford University graduate and senior research associate with over 20 years of experience in public and private sectors implementing large scale, multi- stakeholders initiatives in Latin America.

  • Patricio Venegas

    Chief Finance Officer - CSIRO Chile

    Dr Patricio Venegas is responsible for Finance at CSIRO Chile and the strategic planning for its commercial activities. He holds a PhD in strategy and an MBA from Universidad Católica de Chile. His experience includes executive positions in finance, administration and business development.

  • Eric Schmidt

    Northern Node Manager - Mineral Resources

    Mr Eric Schmidt is responsible for the overall operation of the CSIRO Chile Northern Node office in Antofagasta and helps drive industry engagement on applied research and development projects from there.

  • Edmundo Claro

    Research Program Director, Land & Water - CSIRO Chile

    Dr Edmundo Claro is the Research Program Director for Land and Water projects at CSIRO Chile. His main focus is integrated basin management for Chile’s water resources. Dr Claro has a PhD from Cambridge in Land Economy and over 20 years experience working in the public, private and academic sectors, as well as with non-government organisations.

  • Leonel Ponce

    A/ Finance Manager - CSIRO Chile

    Leonel Ponce is a key member of the finance team at CSIRO Chile. He has over 10 years experience in planning and managing programs and budgets.

  • Enrique Aravena

    Business Development Director - Mineral Resources

    Enrique Aravena is responsible for industry engagement and leads the business and commercialisation activities for CSIRO in Chile.
