National Science Week

National Science Week is scheduled for 15-23 August 2009 and there will be activities for everyone.

It will be the 12th year of National Science Week which is an annual nationwide celebration of Australian achievements and capabilities in science.

National Science Week is scheduled for 15-23 August 2009 and there will be activities for everyone.

It aims to increase community awareness and understanding of the role of science, engineering, technology and innovation in maintaining and improving our society, economy and the environment.

As Australia's largest science organisation, CSIRO hosts and participates in many Science Week events around the nation.

Schools theme

Each year a National Science Week theme for schools is chosen to assist teachers focus and plan ways to engage students in National Science Week celebrations.

The schools’ theme for 2009 is centered around the International Year of Astronomy and is Astronomy: science without limits.
