Australian Native fruits bear sweet antioxidants

A new study has discovered Australian native fruits are exceptional sources of antioxidants. In this four minute podcast, Dr Izabela Konczak explains how native fruits have even more antioxidants than blueberries. (3:41)


Twelve native Australian fruits that are exceptional sources of antioxidants have been identified in research published in the journal Innovative Food Science & Emerging Technologies.

The fruits include the Kakadu plum, the Cedar Bay cherry and the Molucca raspberry.

The research was conducted by Food Science Australia, which is a joint venture between CSIRO and the Victorian Government.
