In August 2006, CSIRO scientists tagged a great white shark nicknamed Columba, in the Southern Ocean near Port Lincoln, South Australia.

Satellite tracking of the tag shows Columba then embarked on an epic journey, travelling to Exmouth in northern Western Australia.
