A team of social researchers within CSIRO are conducting surveys of Australian organisations and households to better understand their current energy use and preferences for the future.
Background
As part of a larger project within the Energy Transformed Flagship, social researchers in Queensland, Australia, are investigating a variety of aspects of energy use in Australian organisations and households, including:
-
current levels of energy use
-
opinions about climate change and alternative energy sources
-
attitudes towards technology that might reduce emissions and increase energy efficiency.
This research will provide valuable information that will help inform future efforts to meet Australia’s energy needs.
Survey responses are anonymous and will remain confidential within CSIRO.
Reports generated from the survey will involve summaries only; no individual responses will be described.
There are two different surveys:
Survey of organisations
All Australian organisations with large energy requirements (annual energy bills of A$10 000 or more per year) are invited to participate in the survey of organisations.
The survey takes about 15-20 minutes to complete.
Survey of households
All Australian residents are invited to participate in the survey of households.
The survey takes about 15-20 minutes to complete.
