for technology to reduce the energy consumed in primary aluminium production
is undergoing promising developments in Australia, with one particular
research project focusing on a revolutionary electrolytic cell technology
that could lead to a paradigm shift for the aluminium industry.Full

Australia's role in global aluminium initiative shows commitment Sustainable
development is to become an even greater focus for the Australian aluminium
industry as it participates in a global initiative to continuously improve
sustainability efforts in a number of key areas including climate change
and efficient use of resources. Recycling, health and safety, and accountability,
are also a focus of the initiative.

are developing ways to assist Australia’s alumina industry –
one of the nation’s largest, with production over $6b pa –
to expand its resource base and improve its productivity and environmental
