Dr David Topping, senior research scientist with the Food Futures and Preventative Health Flagships, has been awarded a Fellowship of the Nutrition Society Australia at a ceremony held on 29 November at the University of New South Wales as part of the 30th Annual Scientific meeting of the Society. The Nutrition Society of Australia is the premier scientific nutritional body in Australia and Dr Topping is a past President.

This prestigious Award was made by Professor Wayne Bryden and is given by the Council of the Society in recognition of contributions of special merit to the scientific study of nutrition and its applications to people and animals. In his introductory remarks to the Award, Professor Bryden said that Dr Topping was recognised not only for his scientific contribution and his practical application of research findings but also his ability to form alliances between groups to maximise impact. Congratulations to Dr Topping for this significant award. Dr Topping is based with Food Science Australia through the Human Nutrition Centre in Adelaide.
