Message from the Director

John WrightThis will be my last newsletter as, after 6 ½ years at the helm, I will be stepping down as the Flagship Director at the end of the year.

It has been a fascinating voyage since the commencement of the Program in 2002. I look back with considerable pride on the Flagship’s achievements and all the people who have contributed to its success. People have been the key, from those at the bench doing the essential science and technology development, our commercial people who work with our many supporters to turn that science into applications, and the management support both in CSIRO and through our Advisory Committees. All have worked in concert to maximise the Flagship’s impact.

The Energy Transformed Flagship is a CSIRO initiative and part of the National Research Flagships program that aims to deliver scientific solutions to advance Australia's most important national objectives. One of the largest scientific initiatives ever mounted in Australia, it aligns closely with the Federal Government's National Research Priorities. The initiative brings together our national research resources to deliver breakthroughs in fields ranging from healthcare to light metals and the environment.
