Background
The Condamine-Balonne region is predominantly in southern Queensland, but extends about 100 km to the south-west into New South Wales. It represents 12.8 per cent of the total area of the Murray-Darling Basin (MDB).
The region has a population of around 182 000 people concentrated in the centres of Toowoomba, Warwick, Dalby, Chinchilla, Roma and St George.
