Goulburn-Broken region: CSIRO Murray-Darling Basin Sustainable Yields Project

The Goulburn-Broken region is one of a series of 18 regions being assessed as part of the CSIRO Murray-Darling Basin Sustainable Yields Project.

Background

The Goulbourn-Broken region is in north-central Victoria and represents 2.1 per cent of the total area of the Murray-Darling Basin (MDB).

The region has a population of around 144 000 people concentrated in the centres of Shepparton, Nagambie, Benalla, Kyabram and Tatura.
