Research topics of special interest have included:

  • sources and mobilisation of salt in large semi-arid river basins
  • application of geochemical tracers to a wide variety of hydrological problems
  • palaeohydrology.

Background

Dr Herczeg joined CSIRO in 1988 as a research scientist after a three year postdoctoral fellowship at the Australian National University, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

He was seconded to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Austria, from 2005 to 2006 to assist with developing new projects in the Water Resources Program.

Academic qualifications

Dr Herczeg's primary research areas include the application of environmental tracers.
