Current activities
Dr Bala Thumma is currently identifying single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers associated with wood quality and adaptive traits in eucalypts using association studies.
Background
Since joining CSIRO in 2001 as a Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr Thumma has worked to identify Quantitative Trail Locii (QTL) associated with wood quality traits in Eucalyptus nitens.
