Dr Lu Zhang is researching catchment scale water balance in relation to climate and vegetation change and developing models to predict the hydrological responses.
Current activities
Dr Lu Zhang is the Program Director of the South-Eastern Australian Climate Initiative (SEACI2) and Stream Leader of Water in a Changing Climate for Water for a Healthy Country Flagship.
Background
Dr Lu Zhang has 19 years research experience in catchment hydrology, soil-vegetation-atmosphere interactions, salt and water balance modelling and ecohydrology.
He has led major research projects for the Murray-Darling Basin Commission, Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Catchment Hydrology, Land & Water Australia, Australian Greenhouse Office and Water for a Healthy Country Flagship.
Dr Zhang’s research interests include catchment scale water balance modelling, impact of climate and vegetation change on hydrology, modelling soil-vegetation-atmosphere interactions, and ecohydrology.
Dr Zhang has published about 150 research papers.
