CSIRO’s Double Helix Science Club helps people have fun exploring science. Double Helix has over 17 000 members and since 1986 has inspired hundreds of thousands of young Australians to smile while stretching their minds.
No matter where you are in Australia, or around the world, Double Helix offers many ways you can get into science.
Benefits of the Club
CSIRO's Double Helix Science Club members receive:
- either Scientriffic (ages 7+) or The Helix (ages 10+) magazine every two months with science news, hands-on activities, experiments, comics, competitions and giveaways
- invitations to member events at the nine CSIRO Science Education Centres across Australia
- a weekly email newsletter, Science by Email, containing experiments, news, links and more.

Membership costs
Club membership is A$29 per year (A$44 outside Australia), with discounts for two-year memberships.
Scientriffic and The Helix are released in alternating months, six times per year, which means households subscribed to both magazines receive a new magazine every month. Multiple magazines delivered to the same address receive the discounted rate of A$27 per magazine per year.
Teacher’s Guides for each magazine are available via subscription for A$10 per magazine per year, or download them free from our website:
