The Helix is one of the magazines of CSIRO's Double Helix Science Club. The Teacher’s Guide supports articles and activities in each issue of The Helix and will assist teachers to stimulate young minds about science with:

  • a teaching unit that links science to other subject areas
  • an issues-based activity that will bring current science into your classroom
  • an extended hands-on activity linked to an article in each issue.

This edition of the Teacher's Guide for The Helix includes:

  • a cross-curricular teaching unit about GPS technology
  • a 'big ideas' discussion topic about sending astronauts to
    the moon
  • a science investigation relating to gravity
