The Birds of the ANWC website features information on Australian birds, where they live, and their songs.
The Birds of the Australian National Wildlife Collection (ANWC) website features:
-
40 Australian birds
-
a description and picture of each bird
-
the song of each bird
-
the location of Australian habitats, including grassland, rainforest and woodland
-
the common and scientific names of birds living in each habitat.
Birds of the ANWC is adapted from a touch screen exhibit featured in the ANWC Travelling Wildlife Display.
The display travelled around Australia in 2002-03 and is now at CSIRO Discovery Centre in Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory.
The bird song sound recordings will play in most versions of the Internet Explorer browser, but unfortunately they are not compatible with the Mozilla Firefox browser. It also requires a screen resolution setting of 1280x1024 pixels or greater. Smaller settings create scroll bars.
