CSIRO delivers science and technology to enable Australia to derive enduring social, environmental and economic wealth from its vast coastline and ocean territory.
This brochure outlines CSIRO's activities to:
- understand the ocean and how it interacts with the land, atmosphere and biological cycles
- develop technologies to support new and existing marine-based industries
- monitor and predict coastal health, enable efficient resolution of competing uses of coastal environments, and prepare for the impacts of climate change
- provide knowledge and tools to ensure the conservation and sustainable use of Australia's ocean ecosystems and living resources.
