CSIRO holds a range of biological reagents

CSIRO biological reagents catalogue

CSIRO holds a range of biological reagents including virus isolates, recombinant poxviruses, plasmids, antisera and monoclonal antibodies.

  • 6 August 2007 | Updated 14 October 2011

Over a period of years, researchers at CSIRO have generated and accumulated significant numbers of biological reagents.

These reagents are available for research purposes or for commercialisation via negotiation.

The CSIRO Biological Reagents Catalogue was established to advertise the existence of these biological reagents and to promote their wider use wherever it is appropriate.

The Catalogue is under development and additional reagents will be added on a regular basis. Reagents currently available are:

  • virus isolates
Please search the catalogue and register your interest in any items.
  • recombinant poxviruses
  • plasmids
  • antisera
  • monoclonal antibodies.

Avian influenza biological reagents

CSIRO’s Australian Animal Health Laboratory (AAHL) is a World Animal Health Organisation (Office Internationale des Epizooties- OIE) and Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) reference laboratory for highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).

A range of services and advice including collaborative investigations are available. These can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

AAHL can provide the reagents listed in the table below.

To order avian influenza diagnostic reagents, or to obtain more information, please contact AAHL.

All reagents are supplied in one millilitre (1 ml) vials unless otherwise stated.

Reagents will be available at a minimum price of A$250.00 plus handling and freight charges. Actual costs will be determined by the nature of the reagent, and the purpose for which it is required (research only or commercial).
