Starlab Planetarium student workshop (New South Wales)

Description
Experience the wonders of the night sky from inside the inflatable planetarium. In this curriculum relevant presentation, various multimedia are used to project a view of the Universe onto the inside of the dome. It leaves participants spellbound and with a greater appreciation of our planet and its place in the Universe.
Segments will be chosen from the following (dependent on age level):
- the planets and their trek across the night sky
- the phases of the Moon
- seasons and the tilt of the Earth
- Greek mythology and the constellations
- a view of the Earth from anywhere in our solar system
- a look at our galaxy and where we fit in the Universe
- galaxies, nebula and constellations
- relative distances in the visible universe.
Details
This program is appropriate for Kindergarten to Year 8 with 30 students per session as a maximum.
For Kindergarten to Year 2 students, the show lasts 45 minutes and costs a minimum of A$6.50 per student and A$165 per session. For Years 3 - 8, the show lasts 60 minutes and costs a minimum of A$7.00 per student and A$180 per session. There is a minimum charge per day of A$400.
These sessions and bookings are GST free. The minimum cost per presenter per day is A$400.
Starlab must be run in an indoor venue with a height clearance of 3.2 metres and 7 x 7 metre floor space, with a power point close by. If these minimum requirements can not be met, we can not run the session.
Please allow for a set up time of 45 minutes and a pack up time of 45 minutes.
