Description
A range of experiments for senior secondary students covering analytical chemistry and its applications.
Students explore topics such as:
- colorimetry
- atomic absorption
- flame emission spectroscopy
- equilibrium
- electrochemical cells
- chlorine
- clays and ion exchange.Discover a range of experiments covering analytical chemistry and its applications.
Through hands-on experiments, students:
- neutralise red wine
- determine sulphur dioxide content in wine
- measure the rate of reactions
- find ways to reduce acid pollutants.
Details
Sessions last for approximately two hours, and can be run between 9.00 am and 12.00 noon or from 12.30 pm onwards. After-school and evening session times may be negotiated.
The workshop costs A$5 per student (GST free) and is available in term 2, weeks 1-6.
