CSIRO’s Industry PhD Program CSIRO’s Industry PhD (iPhD) Program supports a three-way partnership aiming to train new researchers in critical areas and facilitate long-term beneficial interaction between research organisations and industry. Program Benefits •Develop new, or strengthen relationships withuniversities and CSIRO •gain new knowledge and research solutions forchallenges facing your company •enhance innovation and build company R&Dpipelines through university and CSIRO knowledgetransfer •gain access to university and CSIRO facilities andexpertise •develop highly skilled and customised talent toassist with future recruitment. Program Funding& Support The iPhD program is funded by the Australian Government and the industry partner for up to four years. For projects commencing in 2027: •Student scholarship of $49,513 p.a. comprising of$37,153 p.a. provided by the Government and$12,360 p.a. provided by the industry partner•Project Expense and Development package of$13,390 p.a. provided by the Government forresearch operating costs•student career and professional developmenttraining funding provided by the Government. Program Requirements iPhD projects must: •Align with CSIRO & Government priorities •address an industry problem while complying withthe university’s requirements of a PhD program •be limited to domestic students. Industry Partners must: •Be an Australian company or have an Australian presence (with a registered ABN or ACN) •commit to fund a top-up scholarship for the student. For projects commencing in 2027, the total cost over four years is $51,710•provide a suitably experienced staff member to co- supervise the student for up to four years•be a Body Corporate, if a Government entity•be a Research End User•provide the student with a 60-day IndustryEngagement component•provide access to facilities and infrastructure, ifrequired for the project.
