CSIRO STEM-INSIGHTS Capability Enhancer STEM-INSIGHTS Capability Enhancer supports STEM education organisations to measure, understand and share the impact of their work to improve evidence‑based practices and enhance student engagement and learning, with the aim of increasing participation and retention in STEM education and careers. Capability Enhancer (CE) works across the STEM education ecosystem to: • Connect people with relevant knowledge and evidence. • Co-design shared tools and approaches. • Support learning and collaboration across organisations. This approach supports consistent, context-responsive and equitable practice, and stronger impact reporting. What capability areas CE facilitates • Evidence implementation: Building capability to understand and apply research, effective practice and peer knowledge to plan, deliver and improve STEM education initiatives. • Monitoring, evaluation and learning: Strengthening understanding of what works, for whom, under what conditions and why. • Data use: Supporting data collection, analysis and use to inform decision-making. How it works CE uses a needs-first, networked approach with a focus on the following types of work: • Collaboration and facilitation: Working with the STEM-INSIGHTS Network to identify priority needs and co-design responses, including tailored outputs and early products for the sector. • Content and knowledge production: Developing practical, evidence-informed resources (Knowledge Products) and service formats (Plays) adaptable to varied contexts and audiences. How to get involved Organisations can engage with CE in the following ways: 1. Facilitated capability building (Adopt): Workshops and hands-on sessions to build practitioner capability and integrate STEM-INSIGHTS Knowledge Products into programs and projects. 2. Implementation support (Adapt): Receive targeted support to adapt Knowledge Products to your context, including strategic advice and incorporating equity, Indigenous perspectives and cultural responsiveness. 3. Developing new Knowledge Products (Co-design): Take part in bespoke collaborations and co-design workshops to develop new tools and approaches. 4. Co-creating Knowledge Products (Evidence synthesis): Collaborative development of evidence summaries and best practice guidance through working groups and expert review.
