Terms and Conditions

  1. The promoter is the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (“CSIRO”) (ABN 41 687 119 230), Clunies Ross Street Black Mountain ACT 2601.
  2. Entry to the 100 Years of Innovation Quiz is open to Australian residents 13 years or older. An entrant must be an individual and not a company or organisation. Entrants under 18 years of age must have the consent of their parent or guardian to enter. Employees, directors and officers of CSIRO or any person associated with the Competition, or any organisation or individual associated with the provision of the prize(s) are not eligible to enter.
  3. Each entry must be entered in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. By entering the Competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Entries not submitted in accordance with the Terms and Conditions may be deemed ineligible.  Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these Terms and Conditions.
  4. Entry into the 100 Years of Innovation Quiz is free.
  5. The 100 Years of Innovation Quiz Competition period commences at 12.00am AEST on Friday 11 March 2016 and concludes at 11:59pm AEST on Thursday 31 March 2016 .Any entry received by the promoter before or after the Competition period may be ineligible for entry and no responsibility will be accepted for lost, late or misdirected submissions.
  6. To enter the competition, entrants must complete one of the 100 years of Innovation Quizzes on the website at www.csiro.au/100yearsinnovation and complete the entry form with the mandatory information on the entry form. Mandatory information will be indicated by use of (*) as indicated. Entrants are not required to correctly answer the quiz questions to enter the Competition.
  7. Entrants may only enter the Competition once. Duplicate entries to the competition will be deleted.
  8. Entrants may not enter the 100 Years of Innovation Quiz Competition under a different name or provide false information.
  9. The 100 Years of Innovation Quiz Competition will also be promoted on CSIRO’s Facebook page, Twitter and LinkedIn.  Note that separate terms of use of Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn apply and you are responsible for understanding those terms and any privacy practices of Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  10. The random prize draw will take place at 10.00am on Monday 4 April 2016 at CSIRO Newcastle, 10 Murray Dwyer Court, Mayfield West, New South Wales, Australia 2304. Winner’s names will be drawn at random from a barrel. Prize winners’ names will be published on CSIRO’s website www.csiro.au/100yearsinnovation on Tuesday 5 April 2016.
  11. Ten winners will each receive a CSIRO 2016 T-shirt. The Total Prize pool value is $150.00.
  12. Winners will be notified by phone/email within two business days of the draw. Arrangements will be made to deliver the prize to the winners by post or courier. We will make reasonable efforts to ensure winners receive their prize. Where we are not able to deliver a prize despite making reasonable efforts to do so the prize will be included in a second chance draw.
  13. The prizes are not transferable or exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
  14. If there are any unclaimed or un-awarded prizes a second chance prize draw will be conducted on 5 July 2016 at the same time and place as the original draw. If a winner is drawn they will be contacted by phone and in writing within two (2) business days. A prize will be deemed to be unclaimed if we have been unable to contact the prize winner through the contact details provided by 5.00 pm on 4 July 2016.
  15. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. Any questions, comments, or complaints regarding the promotion should be directed to CSIRO and not to Facebook Twitter or LinkedIn. Each Entrant releases Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn from any claim relating to or arising out of the 100 Years of Innovation Quiz Competition.
  16. If the Competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the control of the CSIRO, including as a result of technical failures, CSIRO reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law to modify, postpone, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition as appropriate.
  17. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded including any statutory consumer guarantees, CSIRO including its officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any injury, damages, expenses, or loss whatsoever (whether direct or consequential) to persons or property as a result of any person entering the 100 Years of Innovation Quiz or accepting or using any prize, including without limitation non-receipt of any prize or damage to any prize in transit.
  18. CSIRO is collecting the Entrants’ personal information for the purposes of conducting and promoting this Competition as described in these Terms and Conditions. By entering this Competition, each Entrant confirms that they allow their details to be used for the purposes of the Competition as set out in these terms and conditions.  For more details about CSIRO’s privacy policy and practices, see www.csiro.au/privacy.
