Through the ASSETS leadership and support program, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who have attended the ASSETS summer schools access work experience, mentoring and tertiary education opportunities.

All students who have participated in ASSETS summer schools have access to our leadership and support program. The leadership and support program nurtures students through Years 11 and 12 with opportunities to develop their leadership skills and access to information about careers and further study.

Support may include advice and opportunities to participate in cadetships or work placements within the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields.

Students will also have the chance to stay in touch with friends they made at the summer school through networking events and a secure online forum for students to share news and ideas. Their leadership, communication and career skills will be further developed through activities and guidance provided by the ASSETS team.

How students can get involved

Students can get involved in the ASSETS leadership and support program by attending one of our summer schools. In 2015-16 the summer schools will be running in Adelaide, Newcastle and Townsville in December and January.
