The Bachelor of Science (Extended) is a four-year degree which provides a supported pathway for Indigenous students to complete a mainstream Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne. The program is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who show potential, but who might otherwise not have access to such an opportunity.

The University of Melbourne's Bachelor of Science (Extended) program includes a foundation year of study with subjects in integrated science, mathematics and Indigenous studies subjects as well as the opportunity to complete one mainstream science, mathematics or technology subject each semester. These first three semesters of the degree focus on practical workshops and tailored academic support and is aimed at providing a strong foundation for students.

Student have a choice of more than 40 majors covering all fields of science however it also provides the opportunity to explore multiple strands of science before selecting a major in third year. Students also have the opportunity to live on campus in one of the university's residential colleges .

All domestic students apply for the Bachelor of Science (Extended) through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre and submit a Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) application.
