The live link-up is an opportunity for your students to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of life aboard a research vessel, including a tour of the vessel and a look at facilities, on board equipment, research activities as well as meeting some of the voyage crew and guests.

We use Cisco Webex to conduct live link-ups of 45-minutes duration with Q&A time allocated for students to ask questions about the voyage and the research taking place. Depending on demand, there may be multiple classes/schools online in the same video conference call, or just your class.

Teachers from the Educator on Board program deliver a live cross to a school.

How can my class join a live link-up?

When you register your class, you will receive an email invitation with instructions on how to join a Cisco Webex meeting from a desktop or video conferencing room. Webex is a conferencing system that provides participants with audio, video and screen sharing capabilities.

It is recommended that teachers confirm with their school’s IT support staff that the URL meeting link is permissible to access via the school’s network.
