Seas the opportunity!
Applications are now invited from university students and trainers to take to the high seas for training onboard CSIRO research vessel (RV) Investigator through the CAPSTAN sea training program.
About CAPSTAN
CAPSTAN is a first-of-its-kind training initiative that is transforming how marine science education is delivered. It offers a national approach to applied teaching and learning excellence in marine science and wider STEM disciplines.
CAPSTAN offers hands-on learning and development opportunities for university students, trainers and Chief Scientists onboard Australia's advanced ocean research vessel, RV Investigator, which is operated by CSIRO, Australia's national science agency. Participants can take their passion for marine science on a deep dive and immerse themselves in the expertise, advanced systems and diverse equipment used by RV Investigator in modern marine research.
The program also promotes collaboration and the development of cross-discipline knowledge and skills, including communication and media skills.
CAPSTAN provides a platform for institutional, industrial, cultural and generational knowledge transfer and seeks to help develop Australia's next generation of marine experts.
