The award targets those who have played a key role in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, teachers, schools and communities in STEM programs. Nominations for this award may be completed by teachers, principals, students or be self-nominated.
To be eligible for this award the nominee must:
- identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
- have inspired and supported Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in seeking STEM education pathways and/or careers
- have contributed to the effective and innovative implementation of STEM programs in schools that engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students as well as non-Indigenous students and teachers
- have contributed to engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders, community and organisations to incorporate Indigenous knowledge into core STEM programs and lesson plans.
