CSIRO has been involved with bushfire research for nearly 70 years. Our scientists have developed tools to predict bushfire behaviour, advanced fire spread prediction and bushfire suppression systems, and the environmental impact of bushfires. The research helps to understand bushfires and strategies to manage their impact and also the ecological and social impacts of bushfires. We have a range of experts who are able to provide more information about bushfires.
CSIRO continues to support fire authorities to predict, manage and assess the impacts of bushfires.
For information about our work and resources, go to Bushfire Research section.
Areas covered include:
- development of fire data analysis tools
