We're taking a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach to solving this global challenge, building on our strong history of protecting people in Australia and around the globe from the threat of infectious diseases.
We've been involved in developing and testing vaccines and working with manufacturers to scale-up their production of successful candidates. We launched Australia's first NATA-accredited face mask testing facility, and we're working with water authorities to monitor wastewater for traces of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
We've studied the structure of the virus, as well as its survivability on different surfaces, and the way different strains respond to vaccines.
Our big data modelling has informed state health dashboards, and we're using new AI techniques to protect the privacy of thousands of Australians being tested every day.
