Improving the use of climate information
The Asia-Pacific region is among the world's most vulnerable regions when it comes to the impacts of climate change.
However, the use of climate science to inform plans for building the resilience of the region has been a challenge due to issues with reliability, access, interpretation and resourcing. There is a strong need to improve the availability and uptake of climate information across the region.
Climate change science and services to support resilience
We work in partnership with meteorological services and their stakeholders in countries across Asia and the Pacific to develop tools and materials that support the use of accurate and reliable climate information in decision-making.
As well as delivering fundamental science, including projections of future climate across the region, we work with partners in-country to make the science accessible so it can be used to inform planning and adaptation decisions.
Through extensive stakeholder engagement, knowledge brokering and communication, we ensure that our work provides maximum impact for our partners and builds local capacity to use science-informed decisions to help meet the challenges of climate change.
