From 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022 our science will be on display in the Australian Pavilion as part of Expo 2020 Dubai (the Expo).
Held every five years, World Expos attract global attention with this year’s (delayed) Expo 2020 Dubai expected to see more than 25 million visitors explore the immersive and interactive pavilions of more than 190 participant countries.
As a sponsoring partner of the Australian Pavilion, coordinated by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Austrade, we are showcasing breathtaking images of our science in action. The Australian Pavilion’s display ‘Blue Sky Dreaming’ is a journey of discovery that highlights Australia’s diversity, ingenuity and contribution through 60,000 years of innovation.
Our business programs and themes
The Expo theme ‘Connecting Minds and Creating the Future’ provides a platform to promote our program of Missions and invite international partners to join us to tackle the world’s biggest challenges.
The Australian Pavilion sits within the Expo’s ‘mobility’ district, which is focussed on ‘creating connections to build a global society where information, ideas and goods are exchanged faster than ever before’. Our business programs at the Expo are designed to create connections with international partners to unlock science and technology-based opportunities for Australia and the world.
Our program features roundtables, demonstrations, business matching opportunities anchored to major international conferences during the Expo, for the following areas:
- drought resilience
- digital health
- trusted agri-food exports and future protein.
Australian business program
Due to the current COVID-19 situation in Australia and the United Arab Emirates we will be hosting some of our events virtually. We are also participating in Austrade’s Australian Business Program as co-hosts. This program includes briefings, delegations, business matching and networking events at the Australian Pavilion.
