Application details
The Next Generation Graduates Programs Round Two funding applications will open in May 2022 for proposals intending to recruit students for intakes in January and July 2023.
Applications will close on Monday 1 August 2022. Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 9 September 2022.
Opportunity for an extension of funding may be considered for future intakes of students to successful programs that fulfil student recruitment requirements in January 2023 (subject to available funding and partner contribution).
All applications will be subject to review under appropriate legislative compliance requirements.

We're here to help!
The Next Generation Graduates Program team will help interested researchers and partners to develop their cohorts and collaborations. We will also facilitate introductions to partners where we can – register your interest through this online form.
How to access support
Once you have a theme and ideally a partner who will provide the financial contribution please get in contact with us at Data61-NextGenGrad@csiro.au, and we will assist with the development of the cohort, the application form and alignment to the strategic priorities.
NOTE: To manage potential conflicts of interest, the panel that will be assessing the applications is separate from the Next Generation Graduates Program team.
How to apply
All applications must be submitted electronically through the application submission portal. The portal will be live in May 2022.
Applications will include:
- Program Summary
- Program Description responding to Assessment Criteria
- Diversity and Inclusion statement questions
- Budget
- Chief Investigator information (current position, key grants, key publications, link to online academic profile)
- Letters of Support from universities and partner organisations
