Protein is a macronutrient which is needed as part of a healthy diet. Proteins occur naturally in a range of foods, but are also commonly consumed as supplements.

There are a variety of protein supplement products available in Australia. These products include specialty protein products (e.g., bars, protein balls), protein powder products (e.g., shakes or tablets) or in existing food products (e.g., cereals, milks) which have additional protein added to them. These are commonly advertised as ‘high protein’, ‘added protein’ or ‘protein +’.

We are looking to hear from consumers of these products to understand more about their attitudes and behaviours.

About the study

This study will explore how Australian consumers are currently consuming protein supplements and foods with added protein. Further to this, the study will investigate consumer attitudes toward the current market offerings, for example what may be the perceived benefits of protein products, or what is a problem which is encountered by regular consumers.

This online survey will take approximately 10 – 15 minutes to complete. Upon completion of the survey, you will be invited to enter a draw to win one of 50 e-gift cards valued at $50 each.

Who can participate in this study?

To participant in this study you must:

  • Be aged 18 years or older
  • Consume protein supplements, or foods which contain added protein as part of your regular diet
