ACTIVITY: JOBS OF THE FUTURE! Duration: 10 minutes (not including class presentations) Materials: Butcher’s paper or A3 paper, pens/markers Task: Have you ever thought about what you would like to do once you finish school? These days, new occupations are being created all the time. As a group, think about what new occupations might be invented in the next 5, 10 or 20 years to provide solutions to current world problems. (Maximum of five minutes) Choose one of your group’s ideas and draw a picture detailing what this occupation would look like. Write a description explaining what this future occupation would involve. (Maximum of ten minutes) Assign the following roles to group members: Scribe (someone in the group who will write down thoughts and ideas) Artist (someone who will draw what this future occupation will look like) Presenter (someone who will present this future occupation to the class) Photographer (OPTIONAL: someone who will take a photo of this new occupation and email it to the teacher Class presentation: Maximum of 2 – 3 minutes As a group, present your ‘Job of the Future’ to the class.
