Unlock the science behind student learning with The Classroom Brain - a free, three-part teacher resource presented by TEdX speaker and CSIRO neuroscientist Dr Dana Bradford.

This series helps educators understand how the brain shapes learning and translates neuroscience research into practical, classroom-ready strategies and activities to support diverse learners and foster engaging learning environments.

Dr Dana delivers brief "brain bite" videos covering the science of curiosity, attention, teamwork, movement, memory, and mindfulness to help educators and parents enhance engagement, focus, and wellbeing.

Indigenous knowledge across the Pilbara

We recently hosted the annual Living STEM showcase, in partnership with Chevron Australia. From principals and deputy principals to Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers, Elders, Indigenous Rangers, Aboriginal business owners, CSIRO staff and other government representatives, our showcase brought the science education ecosystem together.

Participants learnt how they could incorporate local cultural practices from around the Pilbara and engage their own students in Indigenous science practices like using plant dyes on fabrics, making bush medicine and distillation using small-scale laboratory equipment to make essential oils from plants found across the region.

Schools, local organisations and community groups also had the opportunity to share stories, projects and experiences highlighting Indigenous scientific knowledge in action. Find out more about Living STEM and how you might get involved in 2026.

Connecting industry with tertiary STEM talent
