Exciting opportunities are now open to contribute to the science and success of the Marine National Facility (MNF), operated by CSIRO on behalf of the nation. The MNF is currently seeking expressions of interest for vacancies on the MNF Steering Committee (MNFSC) and Research Advisory Committee (RAC).
The MNFSC, appointed by the CSIRO Board, provides strategic advice on the direction, time allocation, and performance of the MNF within Australian and international contexts. The CSIRO Board seek a Government Representative and a User Community Representative to join the committee.
The RAC plays a vital role in assessing the scientific quality of applications for sea time aboard research vessel (RV) Investigator. MNF SC seeks to appoint expertise from geophysics, geology, physical oceanography, climate systems, and/or maritime heritage disciplines to the RAC for the 2026-2028 review of applications.
Appointments are for a fixed term of 3 years, with sitting fees payable to eligible members for meetings and related work.
