Clinical research contributes to saving lives and improving the health of all Australians. Clinical studies are critical to provide the necessary, and quality, scientific evidence to prevent and treat diseases. For example, it is thanks to rapid clinical trials that we are confident today that COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective.
Recruiting the right participants for clinical trials is one of the greatest challenges faced by researchers, with less than 1% of Australians participating in clinical trials. Access to trusted clinical trial information may be a limiting factor for many. To assist with recruitment for our Nutrition and Health Research Clinic trials, as well as research studies across Australia, CSIRO has recently partnered with Join Us, a new national research register of people who are willing to participate in clinical research.
The registry was created with the support of 51 medical and health research organisations, universities, and health consumer advocates.
It takes 5 minutes to add your name to this free register, which allows matching of prospective participants with active research studies across a variety of research organisations, rather than registering with each different organisation. Signing up to the register is obligation free and does not automatically sign you up for a clinical trial.
