A national research survey is underway, and the team behind it wants to hear from the people shaping how frontier AI is used across Australia's critical infrastructure.
It is looking at how frontier AI - the most advanced, general-purpose AI systems, like the latest large language models - is being adopted, governed, and risk managed across key sectors such as water, health, energy, communications, transport and banking.

This study is supported by a grant from the AI Security Institute (AISI) through the AISI Challenge Fund. The findings will help identify early risks and inform practical recommendations to strengthen safety, security, and resilience as AI capabilities keep evolving.
